And so, another year has come to pass.

Reflecting always feels good, and this is some of the best reflection I’ve ever experienced. From first hitting those Lincoln streets exactly one year ago, life has never been brighter. I can remember the butterflies just thinking about running for Chair; I can remember the pure joy upon being elected- they joy that has never left, and I say that honestly. I’m beyond thankful for everything this past year has been.

To all those that entered my life this year: Thank you. Getting to know you, seeing you in action, sharing a leadership workshop with you, enjoying a laugh- all of those times are more than a girl could ask for. Thespians, you are something special. There are no other people in the world quite as exquisite as you. We all share a bond, an unspoken tie that is undeniable any time we meet someone proudly bearing the name. I’ll never forget travelling to Lincoln, New York City, Texas, Tennessee, South Carolina, Columbus, Cincinnati, and all the smiles given and received. Those experiences are what life is about.

Some things I’ve learned this year: Always follow your passions- they WILL get you places. People come in to your life for reasons. Take advantage of everything they have to offer. Dedication and hard work magnify the good times. Thespian friends are family-especially ones like fellow ITO (I LOVE you guys with my whole heart). The theatre world is heaven on earth.

Coming out of the best year of my life, I can’t wait for the next phase. I hope all of you reading this plan to make this next year the best year of your life- wherever you are, whoever you are at the moment. I do.

Thank you for the opportunity to be your International Thespian Officer Chair. It has meant the world.

Forever and always yours,

Sarah
