Hello little blogmonsters (catch Lady Gaga vibe going on here?), I'm so glad you're reading this to learn all about my experiences at the 2010 International Thespian Festival! Aye yi yi, where do I even begin? Between the shows, auditions, and dances, (believe it or not, I throw my hands up in the air sometimes!) everything is mind-blowing.

To begin, the variety of shows is always exciting to take in. Little Women was (at the risk of sounding incredibly cliche) ASTONISHING. I'm pretty sure the rest of the GA SSOs (shout out to you, kittens!) spent the remaining days scouring Festival trying to find and admire the cast members and hear "Jo" sing again.

AUDITIONS...dun dun dun. They may sound scary, but were actually an exciting and memorable part of this year's Festival. Besides auditioning at my state conference, this was the first time I had auditioned for colleges on a national level. It's strange to think that in the tiny two minutes you're given, millions and billions (and by millions and billions I mean about 30) schools will adjudicate your performance and decide whether or not to call you back. It's thrilling though! I promise :)

Okaybutlet'sgetreal, the dances are killer. Each night, there's a different theme (this year's themes were Superheroes, Red Night, Decade Night, and Black & White Semiformal) and believe me, people go ALL OUT. Even before/after the dance, while people are playing "Pony" outside of the student union, the dances are a great way to meet new people and make new friends.

I hope those three little snippets provided a teensy bit of insight into the activities at Festival. BUT, that's definitely not all that International has to offer. In that week of pure thespian-dom, you will learn an unbelievable amount about theatre, other troupes, and yourself (here's where the cheesy music starts to play...) I decided to focus this blog mainly on my Festival experience because it was the most fresh to death in my mind, but before I close, I want to post my number one goal for the upcoming Festival 2011.

*More Communication* - it was one of my goals at Festival to connect with new people every day, so one of my goals for next year's Festival to connect with as many people as possible. So send me your questions, comments, or complaints (hmmph, I sound like a 1-800 company...) and we'll...well...connect! Sound good? Good. :) But just incase you don't have any of the aforementioned concerns, come visit this website and the Facebook page as much as possible! The other ITOs and I will try and post news and travel videos/blogs/etc. as much as possible to keep you informed on what's going down next year.

That's all for now; nothing else besides this and the fast approaching first day of SEENYAH YEAR consumes my brain...yikesies. Hopefully everything is going well in your world, and if it isn't - then there are only 315ish more days until it will be :) Until then! Toodles, love you bunches and oodles. (Ooh check out that rhyme!)
